"Africa for Norway" Holiday Charity Video

At this time of year in the U.S. of A, it’s almost impossible to avoid hearing Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” which — for those not in the know — is basically the UK holiday season equivalent of (and the inspiration for) that other major 1980s African famine relief song, USA for Africa’s “We Are the World.”

With tongue firmly in cheek, an African super-group has launched Radi-Aid and released a new single and this video.  “Imagine if every person in Africa saw the ‘Africa for Norway’ video and this was the only information they ever got about Norway. What would they think about Norway?,” they ask.  “If we say Africa, what do you think about? Hunger, poverty, crime or AIDS? No wonder, because in fundraising campaigns and media that’s mainly what you hear about.”
